Synopsis
A companion guidebook for a 13-part travel series aimed at baby boomers, slated to begin airing on public TV stations in fall 2005. In addition to suggestions for actual trips in the U.S., Canada, Mexico, and other countries, the book will offer tips on package tours for older travelers, saving money while traveling abroad, best economical places to visit, women traveling alone overseas, hotel/motel markdowns for seniors, good deals for sporting, skiing, camping, hiking-rafting adventure trips, and other activities, and educational travel such as elderhostel and interhostel.
About the Author
George Bauer is an award-winning journalist and broadcaster who has traveled extensively across the United States and overseas. He's always been a tourist, even when working as an anchor, reporter, and producer for both public and commercial radio and television, at local and network levels, in the United States and Great Britian. He is also creator and host of the companion American Public Television series, THE SEASONED TRAVELER, airing across the United States beginning Fall 2005.
