Joyland is the perfect Stephen King book for those who aren't as into his regular horror and gore style but still want to be spooked. In Joyland, we follow the life of a college student working at an amusement park with a troublesome past and rumors circulating about a haunted ride. The spookier parts of the story are sprinkled tastefully throughout the book and it doesn't rely on a large shock factor. I recommend this book to those who enjoy speculating who the culprit is and aren't as concerned with being on the edge of their seat throughout the book. Another great read by one of the times' greatest authors.
