Sliver of Truth continues the tale of Ridley Jones (
Beautiful Lies), taking her further into the dark world of her birth father ? the man she thought was a beloved uncle. Just as her life is beginning to make sense, she is thrown again into a world where no one can be trusted. Every lie uncovered seems to lead to deeper treachery as Jones pursues the truth about her father's life.
Unger's writing style is unique, and the characterizations are three-dimensional and incredibly believable. The plot is inventive and offers no pat ending with the heroine riding into the sunset with the hero. With this sequel, Unger has made it onto my list of authors who can only be read when I don’t have to worry about my bedtime, or when I think my boss (Serra, are you reading this?) won't notice me napping the next day!
