This book is such a delightful read. I really love how worrying isn't portrayed as a bad thing, as long as you do it in moderation. The colors and art style are very cute and have cottagecore energy; you can tell the author is passionate about what they do. I got so hooked that I had to read it in one go, but I'm going to go back and read it a second time just to analyze the art more. I recommend this if you like the Moomins, Hilda, or... It has The Cat Returns energy. To be honest, this book just makes me happy. It's cute, short, and sweet, and it talks about one of the reasons I love storytelling so much. It's good escapism for when capitalism makes you very, very tired.Recommended by Seb D.
I don't think I've read from anyone able to paint an atmosphere the same way (or as well) as Diana Wynne Jones. The characters are so lovable, and the character development?? Chef's kiss. This is my favorite place to escape to; I've read it over six times at this point. I'm about five seconds away from writing an entire essay/analysis on why this book is good, but I'll stop here.Recommended by Seb D.
